Okaloosa Island Street Lighting District

This district is a Municipal Service Benefit Unit (MSBU) that was created to provide street lighting and landscaping or maintenance of medians or public areas on the Island.  Island leaseholders and property owners are assessed a monthly fee which can be found on your Water and Sewer bill.

Street Light Requests

Any request for additional street lights, or streetlight changes,  needs to be submitted in writing to OILA.  The request will be reviewed by the MSBU Committee and will be presented to the OILA Board and membership for approval.  If approved, the request will be forwarded to the Board of County Commissioners for their action and approval. 

 

Requests are presented to the OILA Board and membership at the April and October meetings.

To report a Street Light damaged or burned out on Okaloosa Island use any of the following means to contact Gulf Power:

Give your name, contact information, the malfunction of the light, and the specific location.  A pole number is very helpful if available.

 

Also, state that the light is paid by the Okaloosa Island MSBU.  This ensures that repair orders are issued from the correct account.
