Caroling around the bonfire was held at The Gulf restuarant on Sunday December 10th.
For 2017 we planned to enjoy friendship and song around a fire at The Gulf. Due to unseasonal cold and rainy weather, we decided to pull the plug on our Friday night date. We were able to do a hasty reschedule for that Sunday night since The Gulf would be able to accommodate us on that night. Unfortunately, this was the same night as the very popular Destin Boat Parade that so many Island residents go to. We did miss many of our good friends however “the show must go on”. For those of you that could not make it, it was a very pleasant evening. The Gulf provided a toasty warm fire, and hot and cold libations were available to enjoy while we sang a variety of classic and new Christmas songs mixed together by Kim and Bob Haines son Nick and broadcast over Dylan Hunt’s redneck jukebox. We hope we can do this again for 2018 - and hope to see you all there singing loud!!
Okaloosa Island Leaseholder Association would like to extend our sincere gratitude and appreciation to our fine and generous businesses that donated prizes for our 2017 Christmas Decoration Contest! We also want to thank all that joined in with the Christmas spirit and brightened our Island with lights and decorations!! Members of the Okaloosa Fire Department, Chief Kevin Carvauto and Asst. Chief Michael Ray Strawn were very kind to take their time and view the properties for our contest.
